  1. I sat down today and thought about it .. and felt sad that we are not friends anymore. Amazing how good things in life are difficult to forget.

  2. Farila, I just loved that story! It reminded me of when I was a child. I had had long hair all of my life, until I got it all cut off for charity back in March. My Mother always had my hair in braids for school, and this one boy particular always pulled them out, so I would get home with my hair all in a mess, and usually a note from the Teachers to tell me to make sure that my hair was tidy if I was going to have it so long. My Mother was so angry after this going on for about a month, that she went to the school to complain about this boy! He would actually pull handfuls of my hair out too, and I was often in tears about it, but after the visit from my Mother, it never happened again! I still sometimes pass this man even now, but we always say "Hello", but sometimes I think that friendships are made or broken in the classrooms of our childhoods.
Your post just reminded me of that...and all the beautiful hair-ribbons that I had lost too!

  4. Hi Divya.. Yes this is my true life story.. I am trying to rediscover myself all over again through my memories.. keeping the good ones and erasing the bad ones. That is going to make my life much easier.. it already has done so much.

Alice.. I am sorry your plait pulling experience was bad and I am glad your Mom stepped in. I have always been a kind who cannot wait for the Mom to do something about it LOL. We were never allowed color ribbons though.. only white.

  6. This is such a beautiful post. You really write so candidly, it always amazes me :)

Its so sad that we have such beautiful memories stored in our heart and we just get lost in life and lose touch with those people who were a part of those memories.

  8. Hi Farida,

I am new to blogging and this is my second day on indiblogger.
Let me thank you for promoting my blog 'Of Gizmos'

This is a touching account of childhood. I remember i too was very touchy and sensitive as a child. But as we grow up we learn to deal with our sensitivity and adopt a more matter of fact approach so that life goes on. Nice meeting u here
